Linkin Park- Living Things

Linkin Park is back with their fifth studio album titled Living Things. After my review of ¬†A Thousand Suns , I was surprised they¬†released a new album so quickly. The band stated that they would combine all the things from the four previous records and blend those things into a new sound. According to them, … Continue reading

Yellowcard – When You’re Through Thinking, Say Yes

I’ve always had a soft spot for Yellowcard, because the way they make music is totally unique. They combine great guitar and drum play, mixed with a violin, and on top of that there is the amazing voice of Ryan Key. They released their sixth album in 2011, which they titled When You’re Through Thinking, Say Yes. This was their first record in nearly 3 years, because they went on an indefinite hiatus in 2008. Needless to say I was beyond excited to hear what the new record would sound like. Continue reading

Foo Fighters – Wasting Light

What do I need to say about the Foo Fighters? They have been around for 15 years, have seen the whole world and created great records. In 2011 they’ve put their selves back on the music radar with a new record called Wasting Light. This resulted in four Grammy awards this year. To create this new disc they went into the studio with Butch Vig and recorded it on analog tape. This has definitely put a stress on the shoulders of the band members, because it had to be done perfectly by the first time. This particular thing made me curious how this new record would sound like. So, are they ready to gain the attention of the audience again? Continue reading

Four Year Strong – In Some Way We Shape Our Form

in some way we shape our formFour Year Strong, one of my favourite pop punk bands for a few years now, have released their third album a few months ago. Just after hearing one song on their first record, I realised this band had potential to become big. Their first album “Rise Or Die Trying” was filled with great pop punk tunes with hardcore breakdowns. The second record Enemy Of The World, released in 2010 was even better and bigger. That’s all on the bright side for this band. Continue reading

Evanescence – Selftitled

It has been a while since the world heard something from Evanescence. To be honest I thought they had quit. After five years they are back with a new record. Their previous albums had great hits such as “Bring Me To Life”, the beautiful rock ballad “My Immortal”, one of my all time favourites, and “Going Under.” They’ve been a pleasure for my ears for years and I’m curious to hear some new tracks. So there’s only one question to be answered. Is this band back and ready to blow the fans away, or does this new record sound bland? Continue reading
